Brake Parts Inc. Receives United Way Landmark Award

July 12, 2013

July 12, 2013—David Overbeeke, president and CEO of Brake Parts Inc. (BPI) in McHenry, Ill., was presented with the United Way Landmark Award for raising more than $100,000 for the organization.

“The United Way is something that I’ve always participated in,” said Overbeeke. “My wife has a real passion for helping kids, so we’ve been involved for a long time.”

Overbeeke says all of his staff, no matter their wages, find a little extra to donate to the cause.

Both organizations are reaching out to encourage others to participate.

“You have to partner with people in order for it to be a victory for everybody,” said Steve Otten, executive director for the United Way of Greater McHenry County. “BPI is definitely one of the most valued partners we have in helping us reach our goals.”
