June 3, 2020—Volvo has launched a new technician program for veterans to transition from military service to the automotive industry, reports Media Post.
According to the report, the new Veteran Technician Careers Program is focused on building up military veterans, National Guard, and Reserve members to be the company's quality level technicians and Volvo hybrid specialists. [Here are just some of the benefits to hiring a veterans]
The four-week program combines eLearning with resident training, followed by a year of on-the-job training at a participating Volvo Cars retailer through a registered apprenticeship program. Veterans that are eligible for GI benefits can also receive a monthly stipend to aid in their transition.
