June 17, 2020

The Automotive Parts Services Group has added electric and hybrid vehicles courses to its Training Academy.

June 17, 2020—The Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group) is adding an electric and hybrid electric vehicle course to its Training Academy platform, according to a press release.

According to the release, the Electric and Hybrid Electric Technician Training course is designed to teach automotive professionals on proper and safe procedures for diagnosing and repairing electric vehicles. The course offers a classroom visual training through a partnership with Automotive Video Innovations (AVI) and John Forro of AST Training.

The course looks at a modified Toyota Prius, which was developed to let students interact with non-energized, high voltage components, according to the release. The Prius also contains energized versions of the components for use when the instructor feels the class is ready and prepared.

The Group, Federated Auto Parts, and National Pronto Association members have access to these free courses.
