The EV was selected by a jury of environmental leaders and officially announced at Greenbuild Virtual Conference + Expo.

Nov. 19, 2020—The all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E was officially honored as the 2021 Green Car of the Year at this year's Greenbuild Virtual Conference + Expo, according to a press release.

Selected by a jury of environmental leaders Dr. Alan Lloyd, president emeritus of the International Council on Clean Transportation, celebrity auto enthusiasts like Jay Leno, and Green Car Journal editors, the win recognizes a deep commitment by the automaker to offer more eco-friendly options to new car buyers.

“The Mustang Mach-E crossover is a breakthrough electric model for Ford, building on the tradition of one of the world’s most recognizable sports car nameplates as it powers its way to the future,” said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com, in the release.
