A new program will provide techs with a shorter path to Ford training equivalency.

Nov. 25, 2020—The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has announced the availability of a new training program in partnership with Ford, according to a press release.

The Ford Accepted Service Training (FAST) Program will provide technicians that have professional-level Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications with a shorter path to obtain course equivalency credit toward Ford Service Technician Specialty Training (STST).

The program includes credit for ASE certifications that are aligned with the Service Technician Specialty training (STST) curriculum and will give a technician an equivalency credit of up to 30 percent of the STST curriculum with the potential to earn credit for up to 27 eLearning courses.

“A win-win for technicians,” said Tim Zilke, ASE president. “We appreciate the support of Ford as well as all of our OE and aftermarket partners who encourage ASE Certification and the development of ongoing competency through training.”
