Baldwin Filters Honors Employees

Oct. 2, 2013

Oct. 2, 2013—Two Baldwin Filters employees, Craig Simmons and James Whitesel, were recently presented with the CLARCOR Achievement Award in recognition for outstanding achievement on several Baldwin projects.

Craig Simmons, setup specialist, was recognized for being a key operational knowledge resource for the equipment design and operation for the recently completed upgrade of spin-on filter lines in the Kearney, Neb., and Yankton, S.D., facilities.

“Simmons’ leadership was evident throughout the process of specifying the equipment improvements before and during the equipment validation at the vendor locations and during the online installation,” said Al Liibbe, senior manufacturing engineer.

James Whitesel, production supervisor, was recognized for his contributions related to a new can-making line and sensor plate work cell at the Kearney, Neb., plant and training support at the company’s Morocco facility.

“No one else in the facility has the knowledge and know-how in all aspects of can-making. He was instrumental in setting up the transfer program. He went back and forth with the vendor until he came up with an idea that would make the programming easier for everyone,” said John Macrander, senior manufacturing engineer on the can-making line project.

Both Simmons and Whitesel have been with Baldwin Filters for nearly 19 years.
