Aug. 12, 2013—KYB Americas has begun construction on a new manufacturing plant in Silao, Guanajuanto, Mexico, with completion set for December.

The plant will begin by manufacturing hydraulic pumps for automobile transmissions. In the future, the plant will also manufacture automotive shocks, struts and steering components.

The plant will add 130 employees once completed and manufacturing is expected to begin in 2014.

“Over the last 10 years KYB has been very aggressive in expanding our capabilities and operations in North America and this new plant is a confirmation of our continued commitment,” said KYB Americas vice president Mike Fiorito.  “We’re particularly excited about the KYB manufacturing technologies and quality control processes that are being integrated into the design of this new plant.
