Oct. 25, 2013—A number of industry telematics experts will present “Aftermarket Telematics: Separating Fact from Fiction” at the AAPEX Learning Forum on Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

During the presentation, industry analyst Roger Lanctot and Scott Luckett, chief information officer of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), will discuss current market conditions, projected scenarios and probable aftermarket solutions and describe the latest industry efforts to secure the consumers’ right to choose where information from their vehicle goes.

After five years at Telematics Research Group, Lanctot joined the global automotive practice sector of Strategy Analytics where he uses his 25 years of experience as an analyst, journalist, presenter and consultant.

Luckett has directed the technology standards committee of the AAIA for 17 years. Luckett has shared a vision for aftermarket telematics through the Shop of Tomorrow demonstrations at AAPEX and recently helped organize the Aftermarket Telematics Task Force.

The presenters will describe the threat to the aftermarket supply chain posed by remote diagnostic technology embedded by the vehicle manufacturers and the options and solutions that can be deployed by the aftermarket to successfully confront the connected car.

The 2013 Aftermarket Telematics Challenge winner will also be recognized during the presentation.
