Past Chairmen Celebrate 50 Years of ASE

The recent Board of Governors Event had past chairmen in attendance dating back to 1988. 

July 11, 2022—The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence recently hosted a Board of Governors Event that honored its 50 year anniversary.

According to a press release, there were decade's worth of chairmen in attendance. The event was hosted in Herndon, Virginia.

During the meeting, discussions were held on many different pertinent topics including the ASE Education Foundation's Adopt-A-School program, the new ADAS and hybrid/electric vehicle safety ASE tests, the ASE Training Managers Council, and more. 

“It was a great honor to have so many past chairmen celebrate such a major milestone. Each one has made an indelible mark on ASE and we thank them for their continued guidance and support,” said Tim Zilke, ASE president and CEO in the press release. “In addition to the festivities, we had a very productive and informative meeting and we greatly appreciate the members of the ASE Board of Governors for devoting their time and expertise to ensure the continued success of ASE for the next 50 years.”

 ASE chairmen in attendance included Mark Polke (2021), Bobby Bassett (2020), Tom Trisdale (2019), Ted Hayes (2018), Jeff Walker (2017), Greg Gaulin (2015), Glenn Dahl (2014), Rob Barto (2013), Mike Phillips (2012), Joe Torchiana (2008-2009), Bill Bergen (2005), Bill Willis (2004), Dennis Terrill (2002-2003), Bruce Gerhardt (1998), Al Duebber (1997), Mike Coley (1991), and Rick Dube (1988).

The meeting concluded with a reception and dinner to celebrate 50 years of ASE.
