Heavy Rain Leads to Flooded Cars in New Jersey

Sept. 9, 2022

Chuck Frye of Frye's Auto Repair has seen flooded cars and flooded engines come into his shop recently.

Sept. 9, 2022—Heavy rain made its way through the Jersey Shore area earlier this week, and the flooding has resulted in an uptick of waterlogged cars at repair shops.

According to CBS News Philadelphia, Frye's Auto Repair owner Chuck Frye of Margate has towed multiple flooded cars. He said he has seen some waterlogged engines as well, which stem from cars being driven through flooded areas.

Frye told CBS not only can these waterlogged engines be a costly fix, but insurance companies could also consider the car totaled as a result of the issue. Drivers in the area are being advised to move cars away from low-lying environments and to avoid driving through floodwater and flooded areas.
