Oct. 6, 2022

Motorworks of Florida has already had multiple cars come in for damages related to the natural disaster.

Oct. 6, 2022—Repair shops in Florida are feeling the impact of Hurricane Ian.

According to Fox 35, cars that have been flooded or damaged by the natural disaster are now starting to file in to shops for repair. For example, Motorworks of Florida owner Robert Kinker told Fox 35 that a car was towed recently with over two feet of water inside it. Kinker said it must have been nearly floating. His shop is located in Sanford, Florida.

His shop has seen about ten cars so far with water damage from Hurricane Ian, and there are certain to be more to come. Kinker said he has seen everything from electrical issues in these cars to locked up engines and general water damage.

He said the price for these fixes ranges from just a few hundred dollars to thousands.
