NASTF Founding Member Retires

Dec. 2, 2014

Dec. 2, 2014—John Cabaniss, retired director for environment and energy from the Association of Global Automakers, has announced he will step down from the board of directors of the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) on Jan. 2.

He will continue his voluntary service to the organization he named and helped create 14 years ago.

Cabaniss will renew his position as OEM co-chair of the NASTF communications committee.

Cabaniss described the founding vision of NASTF, saying in a release, “That Arizona effort [involving discussions between OEM representatives and local Arizona shop owners] ended in the spring of 2000. But it occurred to me that we needed to continue the dialogue at the national level involving many of the same stakeholders as in Arizona and bringing others into the dialogue. The result was the NASTF being formed as a voluntary work group effort in November of 2000.”
