Advance Auto Parts Acquires BWP

Jan. 3, 2013—Advance Auto Parts, Inc. (AAP) recently announced its acquisition of B.W.P. Distributors, Inc. (BWP), an aftermarket parts supplier based out of Armonk, N.Y., according to Zacks Equity Research, an independent research company. 

Founded in 1962, BWP is a privately owned company that supplies aftermarket parts to commercial customers across 216 locations in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

The all-cash acquisition is part of AAP’s strategic plan to expand into the Northeast market, an important growth area, according to Zacks.
