EBay Plans to Sell Auto Repair Services

July 30, 2014—EBay Inc. plans to begin selling automotive repair services as early as this fall, according to Newsday

The online store will test the idea starting this fall in a couple U.S. cities, said Devin Wenig, president of the marketplaces business, an expansion of eBay.

Wenig declined to elaborate more on the company’s auto repair plans during his interview at Bloomberg’s headquarters Monday.

Currently, the e-commerce company already has several automotive-focused sections on its site.

Some of its offerings including the eBay Motors section of its site, where customers can find or sell a vehicle or a parts; an automotive blog; a tool and supply section; and a community networking and information-sharing section where gurus can share tips on maintaining or repairing vehicles.
