Tech, Telematics Forum to Highlight CARS

July 3, 2014

July 3, 2014—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced Wednesday that this year’s CARS event will include an Auto Alliance Innovation Technology & Telematics Forum.

CARS is a component of the 2014 NACE/CARS Expo & Conference, held July 30–Aug. 2  at the COBO Center in Detroit.

The forum, which will be held Aug. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature a discussion about the future of vehicle technology and what it means for sustainable transportation, vehicle owners and repair shops.

Several industry leaders will participate in the discussion, including:

  • Frank Weith, general manager at Connected Car Services with the Volkswagen Group
  • Eric Berkobin, vice president of engineering at Verizon Telematics
  • Roger Saul, director of Vehicle Research & Test Center at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

The discussion will last half the day starting with a breakfast, a morning break and a lunch.

“We are excited the Auto Alliance is sponsoring this Technology Forum,” said Donny Seyfer of Seyfer Automotive in Wheat Ridge, Colo., and ASA chairman-elect. “Independent repairers will hear firsthand about new technologies and what lies ahead for our industry. Attending the forum is an investment in the future of your shop and career!”
