June 17, 2014—The Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) announced Monday more details for its Young Technician’s Symposium at this year’s 2014 NACE/CARS Expo & Conference held in Detroit July 30–Aug. 2.
The Young Technician’s Symposium, sponsored by Bosch, is aimed at two- to three-year technicians and will be held as a four-session course, spanning two days of the conference.
The schedule will be:
- Aug. 1, 9 a.m. to noon and 1–4 p.m.
- Aug. 2,8:30–11:30 a.m. and 12:30–3:30 p.m.
“The ultimate goal is giving young technicians a game plan that will allow them to continue learning once they are back in the repair shop,” said Bob Pattengale, training manager for Bosch.
Attendees will also take both pre- and post-tests, and those who pass will receive a certificate from Bosch.
Space for the Young Technician’s Symposium is limited to 30 students. CARS has encouraged each symposium attendee to purchase the “Super Pass” option, as the symposium is not offered as individual sessions.
Super Passes are $340 for Automotive Service Association (ASA) members and $390 for non ASA members. ASE Blue Seal and I–CAR Gold Class facilities are eligible for a 50 percent discount.
