Nokian Tyres Acquires Import Tire

June 3, 2014—Nokian Tyres North America announced Tuesday it acquired the tire distribution business from Import Tire Inc.

Connecticut-based Import Tire has a warehouse housing approximately 50,000 tires and all customers and equipment were included in the sale. The acquisition will expand Nokian’s New England distribution network.

“Our partnership with Import Tire goes back over 20 years,” said Tommi Heinonen, general manager of Nokian Tyres North America. “Now the time was right for both companies to take the next step and transfer the business under Nokian Tyres’ brand. We will cherish the relationship with the current customers and develop the business further together with them.”
