2015 Ford F-150 to Use LED Headlamps

March 18, 2014

March 18, 2014—The new 2015 Ford F-150 will use LED headlamps, according to a recent Ford press release.

Ford said the new F-150 will be the first light-duty pickup truck on the road with LED headlamps.

LED lamps use 63 percent less energy than halogen bulbs and are made to last more than five times longer.

Ford said designers created a unique lens for the headlamp that carves out 16 precision optical surfaces and 80 facets on the lens face to magnify and spread the light evenly.
