May 14, 2015—The Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) and the Auto Care Association have selected the recipients of the 2015 Auto Care Internship Scholarship.
Three students will receive a scholarship worth $2,500 to contribute to round-trip travel costs to internship location as well as lodging, utilities and food.
This program is a part of the Auto Care Association Auto Care Jobs and Career Development Program and was designed to provide financial support to students pursuing internships to gain real-world education in a variety of auto care industry careers.
This scholarship is intended for college students majoring in programs that have direct application to the auto care industry and pursuing internships in locations more than 100 miles from their permanent residence.
The Winners are as follows:
- Jessica Humbert, DePaul University, will intern with Valvoline in Lexington, Ky. Humbert will work with a small team of category managers and retail data to produce reports and insights, and promote tracking and analytics.
- Cody Knoll, Northwood University, will intern with Automann in Somerset, N.J. Knoll’s experiences will include shipping and receiving in the warehouse, and customer service in the office.
- Ian Stout, Grinnell College, will intern with GCommerce in Des Moines, Iowa. In the implementation department, Stout will work with automotive aftermarket distributors to help facilitate exchange of electronic information with their vendors.
