Auto Service Leaders Advocate for Safety Inspections at Capitol Hill

May 8, 2015

May 8, 2015—The Automotive Service Association’s (ASA) mechanical leaders recently met with Congress to discuss the importance of periodic motor vehicle safety inspections during its Capitol Hill Fly-in event.

Members of ASA proposed potential federal incentives for states wanting to establish new safety inspection programs or strengthen existing programs. ASA also stressed these inspections could create increased recall awareness.

“Our team met with congressional members to discuss vehicle safety inspection and found that many members support these state programs. We’re looking forward to continuing our work with lawmakers to encourage vehicle safety inspection,” said Bob Wills, ASA mechanical division director.
