ASA Attends Auto Event in Detroit in Preparation for 2014 Trade Show

Jan. 24, 2014

Jan. 24, 2014—Multiple representatives of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) recently attended the 2014 North American International Auto Show Charity Preview Black Tie Gala at the COBO Center in Detroit to see how well the location will be able to handle the 2014 NACE and CARS events in July.

The event, which took place Jan. 17 prior to the annual auto show, was a formal gathering of automotive industry executives and celebrities. The ASA said its attendance at the event—which included board members Roy Schnepper and Bob Wills, along with ASA-Michigan chapter president Ray Fisher—provided opportunity to see firsthand how well the city, hotel, convention center, transportation and related services are able to handle the impact of the large NACE and CARS events, and prove they can provide excellent service to attendees and exhibitors.

“We were impressed at how smoothly everything operated and how organized things were at the hotel and the convention center, despite the crowd,” said Schnepper. “It was a fun event, but more importantly, we were able to see how things would flow during a busy time.”

“Although some of us on the ASA board visited the convention center late last year, it was helpful to see the facility filled with people and exhibits. This function provided great insight on how we can better manage NACE/CARS 2014,” Wills added.

According to a press release_notes, the ASA said interest in this year’s event is “extremely high” with many large companies already booking significant exhibit space.

NACE and CARS 2014 is produced for the ASA by Stone Fort Group, an integrated media company specializing in live events and digital media. The event is scheduled to take place July 31-Aug. 2.
