ASA-Florida to Hold Planning Meeting Sept. 19

Sept. 18, 2015

Sept. 18, 2015—ASA-Florida, the newest affiliated organization to join the Automotive Service Association (ASA), announced on Wednesday that it will hold a meeting Saturday to plan for its future. The meeting will be held at 2 p.m., at the Orlando Marriott Lakeside in Orlando, Fla.

Tony Molla, vice president of ASA, and Janie Jeffries, director of membership for ASA, will attend the meeting.

ASA currently has 14 other affiliates across the U.S., and they operate as individual associations with ASA National.

“We have aggressive growth plans, and Florida was one of our primary target markets,” said Dan Risley, ASA president/executive director. “Adding this state affiliate with its large base of existing ASA [national] members will make this a powerful group. ASA-Florida will provide progressive shop owners in Florida an opportunity to unite and work toward improving their respective businesses and the industry.”

John Mechas, owner of Advanced Automotive Service Center in Seminole, Fla., and his brother, Tony, will head the organizational efforts for ASA-Florida.

“Our vision is to see every county in Florida establish its own ASA chapter,” says Tony, who will serve as the main contact. “We want to involve others in working together to bring professionalism, prosperity, growth and representation on legislative issues statewide to both mechanical and collision shops.”
