Kansas Automotive Service Facilities to Receive Audits

July 26, 2013

July 26, 2013—The Kansas Department of Revenue will be conducting audits of automotive service facilities located in Kansas, according to an announcement from the Automotive Service Association-Midwest.

Self-audit candidates will be selected based on the size of their business and tax filing history. They will be asked to review their records to determine if all sales and use taxes have been properly reported.

Thirty days are allowed to complete the review but recipients can call the Kansas Department of Revenue offices to request an extension.

The largest area of noncompliance, according to ASA-Midwest, is use tax not being reported on out-of-state purchases.

For more details, contact the ASA-Midwest offices at 816-781-5801 or the Kansas Department of Revenue at 785-296-3688.
