Fiat Chrysler Launches Initiative to Address Recalled Air Bags

FCA reiterated that the need for repairing the recalled airbags is urgent, due to the fact that, if the Takata air bags explode, they could spray metal fragments into a vehicle, causing serious injury and even death.

Dec. 12, 2017—In an effort to address Takata’s recent recall, Fiat Chrysler has launched Airbag Recall Repair Week, offering Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram drivers the chance to schedule appointments to repair the affected Takata air bags for free.

The offer runs through Dec. 17.

In a company press release, FCA reiterated that the need for repairing the recalled airbags is urgent, due to the fact that, if the Takata air bags explode, they could spray metal fragments into a vehicle, causing serious injury and even death.

So far, 16 people have died as a result of the aforementioned air bags, and 180 have been injured.
