Negotiators trying to make quick NAFTA deal said they will take a break until May 7.

April 30, 2018—Negotiators trying to make a quick NAFTA deal in relation to automotive content and production rules, said they will take a break until May 7, reported Reuters.

The Trump administration has threatened to impose sanctions on Canadian and Mexican steel and aluminum on May 1. according to the report.

Negotiators have been trying to figure out how much content in a vehicle should be sourced from within the NAFTA region, which includes Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.

U.S negotiators have initially demanded that North American-built vehicles contain 85 percent content made in NAFTA countries but now, industry officials say that has been cut to 75 percent.
