The chief executive of Daimler's Smart brand of urban microcars is resigning after eight years in the role.

May 29, 2018—The chief executive of Daimler's Smart brand of urban microcars is resigning after eight years in the role, according to the Financial Times.

Annette Winkler, a veteran of Mercedes-Benz parent Daimler for 23 years, will step down on Sept. 30, according to the report.

Daimler said Winkler will continue to be a part of Daimler, taking on a supervisory board role at Mercedes-Benz, South Africa.
