How to Work with a Marketing Agency

Ryan Burton, owner of marketing agency Leads Near Me, shares his tips for shop owners finding and working with agencies.

Ryan Burton, founder and owner of Leads Near Me, a marketing agency based out of Georgia, shares his tips for shop owners finding and working with marketing agencies. Burton’s agency has helped rebrand businesses for the last 6 years and has clients in over 40 states and 3 countries.

Find a company that knows what they are talking about. The best way to decipher if the marketing agency you are looking to work with is knowledgeable, is by analyzing how they communicate with you, says Burton. They should be explaining things to you in a way you understand while avoiding complicated jargon.

Communicate. In order to get what you want out of working with an agency, make sure to talk them about what you are looking for and how your budget is going.

Let them do their job. As hard as it is to sit back and trust someone with your shop’s branding, remember that that’s why you hired them. If you feel like you aren't getting the results you would like, track your shop’s volume, says Burton. But keep it human, getting too caught up in numbers and tracking software will get overwhelming and time consuming. Instead, speak with your customers about their experience with your shop’s marketing.
