Dec. 26, 2018—In only a weeks time, business has been good for workers at Second Chance Auto in Louisa. Last week, the shop opened its doors for business, reports WYMTLike most auto shops, the employees take in broken and worn down cars, fix them, then send them back out on the roads. But the business isn't just repairing cars, it's rebuilding people.

"What's most special about Second Chance Auto, is it's giving people a second chance at life," Matt Brown to WYMT, the chief of staff to the CEO at Addiction Recovery Care.

Second Chance Auto sits along Watermelon Hill right before you enter Louisa. They do everything from replacing brakes to tire rotations. It looks and sounds just like a normal body shop, but they have some of the most hardworking employees, WYMT reports.

"We have nine employees, six who are full-time employees and three who are in the training program," Brown said to WYMT. "Five of those people are people who used to be in addiction."

Brown was once in addiction, he's been clean for quite some time now and works for Addiction Recovery Care. ARC in general employees about 500 people, more than half of them are in active recovery. Instead of your typical 30-day rehab, ARC workers give those in the program a purpose after recovery. Second chance auto is one of those places, WYMT reports.

Second Chance Auto is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
