April 2, 2019—A California auto repair shop has received a national award. According to the Recordnet, Perlu Advanced Auto Repair in Stockton, Calif., received the "Shop of the Year for 2018" award by Certified Auto Repair.
Shop owner Richard Perez has worked in auto repair since 1995 and opened his shop in 2017.
“We’re trying to do things right,” Perez said to Recordnet. “It’s good to know we’re getting recognized for doing things right. We make sure we take care of our customers. We don’t make money on angry customers.”
According to the publication, the shop offers free rides home to customers, and offers accessibility to charging stations, as well as WiFi. The shop additionally volunteers with Welcome Home Heroes Foundation, Wounded Warriors, No Kid Hungry, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children.
