CCAR Announces Growing User Base, New Online Courses

Jan. 10, 2014

Jan. 10, 2014—The Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair (CCAR) announced on Thursday that interest in subscriptions to its HazmatU training resources were strong in the final three months of 2013.

"The increase in subscriptions is also due, in part, to an increased awareness by the automotive industry of the importance of hazardous materials safety and compliance," said Steve Hunt, president and CEO of ShipMate Inc., the company that developed the training content in cooperation with CCAR, and the North American Automotive Hazmat Action Committee (NAAHAC).

In addition, CCAR, HazmatU, and ShipMate have completed two additional courses and will be posting them on the HazmatU.org website in the first quarter of 2014.

Automotive Dangerous Goods Transport–Canada, is a French-language course that focuses on the transport of automotive hazardous materials in Quebec and throughout Canada. The course was translated and narrated by native Quebecois speakers.

The second course was tailored for Spanish-speaking employees. Multimodal Transport of Automotive Hazardous Materials is a course focused on the transport of vehicle parts by surface, air, and ocean.
