May 22, 2019—Complete Auto Repair in Lakewood, Colo., was awarded The Rotary Club of Golden’s Ethics in Business Award on May 3.
Shawda Hosier, co-owner of Complete Auto Repair, said that she does not know who nominated her shop, but hopes it was a customer or vendor that thought the business stood out above the crowd.
Complete Auto Repair is a family-owned business started by Hosier’s father, who she said was proactive in hiring individuals that he knew would be ethical before anything else.
“He made sure to handpick everyone based on their personality as much as their talent—to make sure we could uphold a higher standard,” Hosier told Ratchet+Wrench.
The staff at Complete Auto Repair treat their customers as an extension of their family, said Hosier, in order to build trust and form relationships.
“Unfortunately, there are so many shops that have a bad reputation,” said Hosier. “He (Hosier’s father and shop founder) wanted to stand out as one of the good ones.”
To further ensure trust, Hosier said that the shop takes photos and videos of vehicles that come in for service, in order to show customers not there in person what their vehicle’s issues are in full color.
“We try to give them as much information as we can, so they can make the best decision of what to do next based on their circumstances,” said Hosier.
