May 24, 2019—The Beloit City Council of Beloit Wis., has denied a conditional use permit application by Waylon Daniel to operate a limited auto repair shop from a portion of the Roc City Art Complex in the 2000 block of Liberty Avenue, reports the Beloit Daily News

The council voted at Monday's meeting to deny the application, based on recommendations by city staff regarding past issues at the property.

According to city planning staff, a timeline will be established for Daniel to end the current use of the property for auto repair and finding a new location. If the deadline is not met, staff said, Daniel could be cited for further code violations, reports the Beloit Daily News

In December of 2018, city staff initiated enforcement action against the property after an unlawful auto repair shop was found in the rear storage area of the building.
