August 8, 2019—Conant Automotive in Stoughton, Wis., is finding clever ways to get more millennials involved as job shortages are impacting the auto repair industry, reports NBC 15.

Milwaukee Area Technical College officials said automotive technology enrollment has been steady in the last five years, but there’s a desperate need for skilled workers in the workforce.

The auto repair shop teamed up with Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers Association to fight the job shortage to make tuition cheaper for automotive repair students—the student, the association and the auto repair shop are splitting the tuition three ways.

Owner Joe Conant said it’s an incentive and is essential for getting young people to join the industry.
