General Motors Recalls 3.4 Million Vehicles for Brake Issues

Sept. 16, 2019

The recall covers Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks between 2014 and 2018.

September 16, 2019—General Motors has issued multiple recalls on more than 3.4 million pickups and SUVs, reports USA Today.

The recall covers Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks between 2014 and 2018, as well as the Cadillac Escalade from 2015 to 2017 and the GMC Yukon, Chevy Suburban and Tahoe from 2015 to 2018.

GM is saying that as the truck ages, the pump in the power-assist brakes can put out less vacuum power than needed, increasing stopping distance and risk of a crash.

Owners were notified Sept. 6.
