Carmates is a sort of online marketplace for automotive repair shops, similar to Openbay and RepairPal. And many shop operators have raised issues with companies that offer these kinds of services. Today on Ratchet+Wrench Radio, co-founders Raju Sagiraju and Surik Torosyan explain how Carmates works and address those concerns voiced by shop owners.
The study marked the launch of RepairPal's new Car Comparison feature, which allows users to compare vehicles side-by-side in terms of reliability, repair costs, and owner reviews.
Through this partnership, CarMax will provide its customers with access to the RepairPal Certified shop network, resulting in additional service and repair locations.
RepairPal's Reliability Rating was derived from millions of repair orders on model years between 2010 through 2017. The study found that the average annual repair cost for all cars brought into RepairPal certified shops was $620 per year.
By integrating RepairPal into Dash, drivers can quickly diagnose their vehicle’s Check Engine Light code and connect with shops through the RepairPal Certified network. Through Dash, drivers can track their trips, hear real-time voice feedback and set maintenance notifications.
The tool manages customer work orders from the initial contact to the verified customer experience reviews at the end. The fully responsive design works on any computer or mobile device, making it easy to monitor shop activity from the office, garage, or even at home.
RepairPal analyzed website user activity by zip code and recall data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) over the past five years to determine the major metro areas most and least impacted by recalls.
TECHNET, which offers 9,200 member shops marketing solutions, ongoing training and business resources, will now be able to work with 1,950 RepairPal certified shops.
