The recent Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) annual meeting included the induction of Keith Krehel, president of Krehel Automotive Repair, Inc. in Clifton, N.J., into the association's Hall of Fame.
The webinar will touch on the current hiring and employment conditions, but focus on turning lackluster employees into productive members of a high-performance team.
The event, which pays tribute to former board member and influential association member Lou Scoras, also raises money for a scholarship in his name, helping to engage and inspire the next generation of automotive technicians.
Minnesota Careers in Auto Repair and Service (MNCARS) is a non-profit organization established in 2016 by the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN). Its sole purpose is to promote careers in the automotive industry, recruit young people into the state's college-level automotive service and collision repair programs and, ultimately, into industry workplaces.
For the second consecutive year, AASP/NJ will donate $1,000 from the event’s proceeds to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to help with their fight against prostate cancer.
AASP-MN hopes shop owners will aid the organization in promoting automotive education to high school students, as recruitment has become a major symptom of the technician shortage.
