Repairify has named Ben Johnson as its newest vice president of general automotive repair markets in a recent press release.
Having entered the industry as a technician in 1979, Johnson has since gained several ASE certifications and held roles with SPX, the Automotive Care Association, and Delphi. Most recently, he worked at Mitchell 1, managing the company’s product portfolio.
Additionally, Johnson is an active member of the Society of Automotive Engineers International, recently served on the Auto Care Association’s Tool & Equipment and Emerging Technologies committees, and is a past president of the Equipment & Tool Institute.
In his new role with Repairify, Johnson will be primarily responsible for the strategic growth and product development of asTech Mechanical, Repairify’s upcoming product. AsTech Mechanical aims to enable jobs requiring specific OEM tools to be done in-house, and is slated to be available for use on May 20.
“The increasing complexity of vehicles means there is an increasing need for repairs to be completed using functionality exclusive to OEM tools,” Johnson said. “Making these OEM tools easier to access will help more shops across our industry complete all repairs properly.”
