Aug. 9, 2016—Auto Profit Masters announced on Tuesday that it has released a free ebook and video outlining what shops need to know in order to be federally compliant with the Department of Labor's new overtime pay regulations.
The overtime rule goes into effect in Dec. 1, 2016. It will require shop to pay overtime for every service writer, shop foreman, lube manager and bookkeeper who makes less than $47,476 annually. Commissions and bonuses are not counted towards the salary.
As an example, a service writer that makes $500 per week with commissions and bonuses for 60 hours of work per week will be required under the new law to be paid an additionally $20,000. The Auto Profit Masters program is an alternative to that pay plan that is tailored to the specific needs of each shop and still federally compliant.
Auto Profit Masters said the program allows for better profits, higher sales, more repeat business and referrals, and a team that cares about the success of the shop.
