Last week as part of a huge community event, Burt Brothers Tires and Automotive Services celebrated the grand opening of its tenth shop, in Highland, Utah, with racing legend Mario Andretti as a special guest.
This isn’t the first time Burt Brothers has done a major grand opening event, but Jake Burt, district manager for Burt Brothers, says they went especially big for this year’s grand opening.
“About every two years we open a store, as they come available,” Burt says. “This is our tenth store, so we thought we’d go really big.”
Andretti was on the premises signing autographs for customers and helping the shop cut its grand opening ribbon with the town’s mayor in Highland Park. Burt says this was the fourth time they’ve had Andretti out for one of these events. Burt Brothers has sold Firestone Tires throughout its shops for over 27 years, and was able to connect with Andretti because of his long standing partnership with the brand.
Additionally, Burt Brothers brought out the monster truck Bigfoot in to perform a car crush and do a photo op with attendees. The local police department even gave a police escort for Bigfoot as it drove down the main streets.
Aside from the two main attractions, there were food vendors, face painting, and other kid-oriented activities.
Burt says this took several months of mapping out the details of the event and emailing people throughout town, and the whole team had to get involved.
“It’s amazing the kind of excitement it created for people all over town, getting to know us and Burt Brothers,” Burt says.
