Giant Food to Provide EV Charging Stations

A grocery store chain will provide free-to-use electric vehicle charging stations at select locations.

June 24, 2020—Giant Food, a greater Washington D.C. regional grocery store chain, will provide free-to-use electric vehicle charging stations at select locations, according to a press release.

According to the release, the grocery store chain has begun installing electric vehicle charging stations at select locations across Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. Through a partnership with Volta, maker of electric charging stations, 60 EV charging stations will be completed by the end of 2020, with 200 expected to be installed by mid 2021.

All stores launched will offer two Volta charging stations, featuring a two-sided 55-inch high-definition display. Screens will share featured in-store specials and promotions for Giant shoppers.
