Tesla Wants to Put a Chip in Your Brain

Sept. 4, 2020
The Neuralink system would allow drivers to summon their vehicles to them with just a thought.

Sept. 4, 2020—Elon Musk's latest idea for Tesla could give humans their first real taste of "Star Wars's" "the force." The Neuralink system would feature a small chip inside the driver's brain that would record brain activity and, yes, bring your vehicle right to your doorstep.

As of now, the only creature with the Neuralink chip is Gertrude the pig. The chip records her activities as she searches for food. Musk explained the chip as, "kind of like a Fitbit in your skull with tiny wires," according to CarBuzz

Tesla currently offers a Smart Summon feature which allows drivers to summon their vehicles to them as long as they are within eyesight and the vehicle would travel, at most, the distance of a parking lot. The Neuralink system would enhance all of the existing features and eliminate the pesky step of pressing a button. Instead, it could just read your mind.
