Most of us have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues who excel at their work.
They’re talented, inspirational even—they just know how to get the job done day-to-day. Those individuals make your life easier. They make your shop a better place to work. Their success is your shop’s success.
You might not think about the contributions of these folks regularly. It’s much easier to get caught up in the problems of the day than to recognize the wins. The simple, daily tasks that are done well and completed on time often don’t attract a lot of attention.
But I’d like for you to take a moment to think about those things and those people right now. Think about the people on your team—or even your extended team of vendors, advisors and other professionals—who deserve an extra pat on the back. Then take a moment to nominate those hard-working individuals for a Ratchet+Wrench All-Star Award.
Now we’re gearing up for our second year of the awards and we’re hoping for an even bigger response from the industry. If you have a colleague or peer who is talented, inspirational, and dedicated to improving his or her company, the industry, and the lives of others, we want you to tell us about them. Nominating is free, fast and allows you to say “thanks” on a grand scale to the people who truly deserve it.
The nomination form, found at ratchetandwrenchawards.com, is simple and asks for brief descriptions of each nominee’s professional achievements and influence on others in the industry. After the July 1 deadline, the editorial team will carefully review every nomination and collectively decide (after much debate) on winners, calling nominators for more details when necessary.
Our staff will then contact winners to set up interviews for profiles to be published in the November issue. Winners will also receive a physical award recognizing their achievements.
So who are the All-Stars in your shop? Please introduce them to us. We’re looking forward to reviewing your nominations.
