September 10, 2018—An auto repair shop in Forest Grove was destroyed after it caught fire Saturday afternoon.

Forest Grove Fire said crews arrived to find the shop fully engulfed in flames and with the roof collapsed.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to get the fire under control with the help of 2 trucks pouring water from above.

Officials said live power lines that were burned and fell down and a broken water line in front of the building made fighting this fire more difficult. The water created a 3-foot wide sinkhole that may have been 4 feet deep.

The entire building and 2 cars that were being worked on are a total loss. No one was hurt.

Investigators are still working to learn what caused the fire.
