May 22, 2013—Polk recently recognized Mevotech Inc. and Performance Warehouse Inc. with the 2013 Polk Inventory Efficiency Award during the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS), held May 21-22 near Chicago.

The award recognizes outstanding aftermarket companies for process improvements in supply chain and inventory efficiency.

Mevotech, which specializes in providing technologically advanced automotive parts, was recognized in the manufacturer category.

To overcome limited warehouse space and inventory challenges, Mevotech launched its Excellence in Inventory Strategy, a four-stage program that managed the entire product lifecycle to reduce inventory levels while remaining efficient and maintaining fill rates.

Wholesale establishment Performance Warehouse was recognized in the retailer/distributor category for their work in operating and guiding the evolution of the inventory optimization tool for the buying group. The tool delivers efficient inventory and stocking decisions for retailers, accurately predicts part failure rates, and identifies business opportunities.

“We are honored to recognize the efficient contributions of Mevotech and Performance Warehouse in this year’s program,” said Mark Seng, Polk’s vice president of aftermarket and commercial vehicle. “Inventory efficiency often translates to cost savings and better practices, and both of these organizations have integrated industry-leading inventory management and supply chain practices into their operations, serving as respected benchmarks for others in the automotive aftermarket community.”
