Oct. 20, 2017—A proposed class action lawsuit in Massachusetts claims that Mercedes-Benz sold vehicles with faulty radiators that would break down, damage transmissions and put drivers at risk, according to a Law360 report

Financial costs related to the alleged defect could be “exorbitant” as consumers pay thousands to repair their vehicles’ drivetrain and fix damage to the transmission, torque converter and radiator, according to the complaint, which was originally filed in state court last month.

The company issued a secret technical service bulletin about the problem to its authorized dealers, which were told to “implement cheaper, albeit temporary, fixes,” the complaint says.
