Boy Scouts Earn Merit Badge at Repair Shop

About 50 Scouts learned about the auto care industry, as well as basic vehicle maintenance.

Scouts from Troop 58 earned their automotive maintenance merit badge courtesy of Peter Nasrallah, owner of SCV Auto Care.

According to the report, Nasrallah invited the troop to his shop to learn basic auto maintenance and get a hands-on experience under the hood of an automobile before getting behind the wheel.

“As we get into driving and everything, you know, we don’t necessarily have the opportunity to learn all of the different kinds of maintenance tasks associated with a vehicle,” Scoutmaster William Hamor said. “So, as they approach that it’s important for them to be able to learn about how to take care of their cars for safety as they go into driving and also just learning about careers.”

The Scouts learned about the auto care industry as a career, as well as how to change oil, rotate tires, and other standard maintenance.
