Toyota President: California’s Zero Emissions “Difficult to Achieve”

Sept. 30, 2022— Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota, told Reuters through a translator that California’s proposed zero emissions standard to ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles by 2035 would be “rather difficult to really achieve.”  

Toyoda has also been under scrutiny from environmental groups and investors for his slow adoption of EVs.
