Biden Pushes for Alternative Fuels

April 4, 2022

President seeks green energy sources to reduce gasoline dependence.

April 4, 2022—President Biden is asking Congress to move forward with alternative energy use to give Americans relief at the pump, reports WREG News 3 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Biden’s plan focuses on using green energy solutions that limit dependence on Russian oil, a move Republicans have balked at, citing American reliance on traditional fuel. Last week, the administration sought billions in funding from Congress to invest in sustainable energy for electric vehicles.

Ali Zaidi, White House deputy climate advisor says Biden’s initiative will limit volatility at the pump, but opponents of the plan think now isn’t the right time to make a change, but to instead look towards clean oil production.
