Brakes for Breasts Hits Donation Record

Brakes for Breasts raises funds for the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund by partnering with industry vendors and shops to offer free brake pads or shoes for the month of October, then donating a portion of each brake job to the fund. 

April 16, 2020—Brakes for Breasts, a nonprofit that supports breast cancer research, has hit a milestone in donations, reaching $194,160.04, according to a Facebook post.

Brakes for Breasts raises funds for the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund by partnering with industry vendors and shops to offer free brake pads or shoes for the month of October, then donating a portion of each brake job to the fund. 

According to the post, 141 independent repair shops in 38 states donated to the cause, beating out the previous record for donations of $141,868.76 in 2014. 

Brakes for Breasts is a nonprofit organization that unites independently owned auto repair facilities to support the breast cancer vaccine that was founded by Ratchet+Wrench advisory board member Leigh Anne Best of Mighty Auto Pro and Laura Frank of Auto Repair Technology.
