The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers will be ceasing its operations at a national scale, according to a recent press release.
The decision was made by AASP’s Board of Directors, which, after enlisting the help of a professional association management facilitator, saw that the best path forward for the group was to dissolve its national chapter.
Though AASP’s national organization will dissolve, state chapters will continue to operate. AASP will be dividing its remaining assets among affiliates in good standing, including AASP Illinois, AASP Massachusetts, AASP Minnesota, AASP New Jersey, AASP Pennsylvania, Automotive Service & Tire Alliance North Carolina, and New York State Association of Service Stations and Repair Shops.
In addition, $100,000 will also be given by AASP to the Database Enhancement Gateway, which AASP co-founded.
AASP’s final meeting will take place in November alongside AAPEX and SEMA.
“We are proud to have served the industry for the past 25 years, acting as a networking hub for associations and facilitating the exchange of information and best practices,” said AASP President Dan Sjolseth. “AASP National has run its course, but its spirit will live on through the continued work of our 7 affiliate groups to positively impact the industry at a local level.”
